Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – As Abu Dhabi prepares to host the IAAPA Middle East Exhibition and Conference 2026, IAAPA has announced the launch of its new regional office for the Middle East and North Africa under the name IAAPA MENA.
This step is evidence of the accelerating transformation of the entertainment industry in the region. Moreover, it shows a shift towards an integrated economic system based on sustainable development.
The organization explained that it has appointed a vice president and executive director to lead the office’s operations from Dubai. This leader will oversee the local team and strengthen IAAPA’s corporate presence. Consequently, this underscores its commitment to establishing a permanent and sustainable presence in the region.
launching Date
The office is scheduled to officially begin operations on July 1, 2026. Further details will be announced at the upcoming event in Abu Dhabi. This move underscores the UAE’s strategic position within the global entertainment industry.
The collaboration between IAAPA and MENALAC recognizes the council’s leading role and growing expertise in the indoor entertainment and family entertainment sector. Moreover, it provides tailored support, expert insights, and more effective representation for operators of all sizes.
In this context, IAAPA CEO Jacob Vale said, “The establishment of IAAPA MENA ensures our members in the region have stronger representation and more specialized resources, while keeping them fully connected to our global network. Together, we will leverage our strengths to foster innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth.”
Over the past decade, the region has witnessed billions of dollars invested in the entertainment industry, contributing to the development of world-class attractions, from mega-themed cities to innovative local experiences. The UAE and Saudi Arabia are leading these efforts. As a result, they are solidifying the Middle East’s position as a global hub for tourism and entertainment.
Advisory Council
According to IAAPA, the initiative includes a series of steps to strengthen its regional presence, most notably: the formation of an advisory council comprising members from IAAPA and MENALAC to define strategic priorities. The initiative also includes a permanent seat for the council chair within the organization’s global management. In addition, the initiative involves the establishment of specialized committees for safety, education, and manufacturer and supplier affairs. Furthermore, a vice president and executive director will be appointed to manage the IAAPA MENA team from Dubai.
The office is a pivotal hub aligned with IAAPA’s mission to support safe and sustainable operations and professional development. Furthermore, it will build upon MENALAC’s legacy of representing and leading the sector. The existing European office will then become responsible for Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.
This announcement comes ahead of the IAAPA Middle East 2026 Exhibition and Conference. At that event, industry leaders and media will meet to learn more about the organization’s plans and efforts to promote collaboration and innovation in the region.
