Emirates has expanded its Southeast Asian network with the launch of new routes to Da Nang, Vietnam, and Siem Reap, Cambodia—both connected via its Bangkok hub. The move strengthens the airline’s regional presence to 23 destinations, underscoring Bangkok’s strategic role in Emirates’ global network and reaffirming its commitment to Thailand.

To mark the occasion, a ceremony was held at Emirates’ newly opened state-of-the-art lounge in Suvarnabhumi Airport’s SAT-1 terminal—its largest outside Dubai. Attendees included Nabil Sultan, Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales and Country Management; Orhan Abbas, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations – Far East; and Mohammed Alwahedi, Country Manager for Thailand. They were joined by Mr Jaber Alshehhi, representing the UAE Ambassador to Thailand, and Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.

Mr Sultan emphasised that the launch of these new routes via Bangkok marks a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity across Southeast Asia. “With these services, travellers can seamlessly connect between Dubai, Bangkok, and onward to Da Nang or Siem Reap—all with a single ticket,” he noted.

The four weekly flights to Da Nang and three to Siem Reap will be operated with Emirates’ three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering First, Business, and Economy Class cabins. The schedule is optimised to provide convenient connections to key European and Middle Eastern cities.

The expansion comes as Emirates celebrates its 35th anniversary in Thailand. Bangkok has grown to become one of Emirates’ busiest global hubs, with five daily flights to Dubai—four of which are operated by the Airbus A380—and a daily non-stop service to Hong Kong. From July 2025, Bangkok will also be among the first cities in Southeast Asia to welcome Emirates’ new four-class A380, featuring Premium Economy.

Significant investments in Thailand reflect the airline’s long-term commitment, including a THB 175 million premium lounge at Suvarnabhumi and the recent launch of the Emirates World Store at Gaysorn Village. Emirates’ strategic partnerships with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thai Airways, and Bangkok Airways further enhance regional connectivity and promote premium inbound tourism. The airline’s new routes are expected to boost tourism and trade links across Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia—markets with rising long-haul travel demand. Da Nang is emerging as a logistics and technology hub, while Siem Reap, buoyed by the new international airport and a rebound in tourism, is set to attract greater global interest.
