Al-Ahly club revealed, on Friday evening, the reason for the absence of Mohamed El-Shenawy, the first-team goalkeeper, from the match against Aigle Noirs in the CAF Champions League.
Al-Ahly is scheduled to meet Burundi’s Aigle Noir tomorrow evening, Saturday, at Cairo International Stadium, in the second leg of the CAF Champions League Round of 32.
Walid Salah El-Din, Al Ahly’s football director, said that Mohamed El-Shenawy, the first-team captain, will miss Al Ahly’s match against Burundi’s Aigle Noirs in the CAF Champions League. This is due to severe fatigue and a cold.
The football director confirmed that the technical staff preferred to give El-Shenawy the necessary rest until he fully recovers. He is expected to be ready for the upcoming matches.
Al-Ahly defeated Aigle Noir 1-0 in the first leg, which was held in Burundi.
