Voice of Emirates – Emirates nation Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lana Nusseibeh,
affirmed before the United Nation General Assembly that the establishment of
an independent Palestinian state alongside the State of Israel
It is the only way to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East,
reiterating the UAE’s support for the two-state solution as an unavoidable strategic option.
In her speech, Nusseibeh said that the UAE “continues its role as the largest donor to the Gaza Strip.”
Stressing that aid will continue despite the restrictions and obstacles hindering its delivery,
she referred to the worsening humanitarian challenges in the Gaza Strip.
She added that the peace agreement with Israel is “part of broader
efforts to enhance dialogue and cooperation between countries,”
“Contributing to achieving greater stability and developing the system of regional relations,”
Emphasizing that the UAE’s diplomatic steps are inseparable
from its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Sudan: Call for an immediate ceasefire
Regarding the Sudanese file, Nusseibeh stressed the UAE’s support for the Sudanese people.
Calling for an immediate ceasefire and a return to the negotiating table to end
the war that has been going on for more than a year and a half.
“We stand with Sudan and its people in this ordeal,
and we believe that a political solution is the only way out of this crisis,” she said.
Affirming that the UAE continues its diplomatic efforts to support stability in Sudan and the region.
In separate statements reported by Reuters, Nusseibeh stressed
that “diplomatic flexibility is key in a world full of fragmentation and divisions.”
Calling for enhanced international cooperation to address common challenges,
including armed conflicts and humanitarian crises.
