Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Abu Dhabi will host the 2025 Grand Prix Junior Figure Skating Championships.
This is the first time in the Middle East and Africa region, with the participation of 90 male and female players representing 35 countries.
The tournament will be held under the umbrella of the International Ski Federation. It is sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council from October 8 to 11 at the Abu Dhabi Ski Hall. This event is part of 5 international rounds of the tournament, with the UAE hosting the penultimate round.
The event includes three main categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, and doubles. It will feature participation from an elite group of the world’s most prominent talents.
Hamel Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Vice President of the UAE Winter Sports Federation, stressed that hosting the tournament reflects the International Ski Federation’s confidence. It highlights the UAE’s prestigious position on the international sports scene.
It also represents an important opportunity to develop Emirati talents and hone their skills. They will benefit by interacting with the best emerging players in the world.
Al Qubaisi pointed out that the event embodies the UAE’s position as a global winter sports destination.
It also keeps pace with the national strategy in diversifying sports and supporting non-traditional activities such as show skiing.
