Satellite images reveal Iran's transfer of refrigeration equipment to Natanz facility
Grossi stressed the need to verify the presence of enriched materials in Iran/Agencies

Tehran, Iran – Recent satellite images revealed that, over the past week, Iran removed most of the cooling devices from two buildings. These belong to the ventilation and air conditioning systems at the nuclear fuel enrichment facility in Natanz.

The head of the Institute for Science and International Security, David Albright, said that this step aims to reduce the risk of destroying these vital devices. This would happen in the event of new air strikes.

Especially since it is currently out of service due to a power outage and the breakdown of the centrifuge facility.

Because of the attacks that occurred during what is known as the “12-day war”.

In this context, the Director General of the Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, confirmed that Iran still has the capacity to produce axial centrifuges. These are used in the process of enriching radioactive materials.

“Everyone agrees that the capacity to produce more centrifuges is largely there,” Grossi said.

He stressed the need to verify the presence of enriched materials in Iran.

He added: “I think there is general consensus that the materials in general are still present in Iran”.

He pointed out that “their existence must be verified, some of them may have been lost. There are technical ways to determine this. So this is what we are waiting for”.

stalled negotiations

Nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington stopped in mid-June (June).

Due to the Israeli attack on Iran, the United States participated by carrying out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Washington withdrew from the nuclear agreement with Iran in 2018 and reimposed sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

This was during President Donald Trump’s first term.

Since then, Tehran has reneged on some of its commitments, particularly regarding uranium enrichment.

Western countries suspect Iran of seeking to possess nuclear weapons. However, Tehran denies this and defends its right to develop a nuclear program for civilian purposes.
